At Yount Psychological Services, we are pleased to offer a wide range of evaluations for children and adults. Dr. Yount has years of training and experience in psychological testing in Orlando, and she has conducted hundreds of evaluations in her private practice.
For some clients, testing is the first time they gain a comprehensive understanding of their psychological health. Evaluations in Florida are conducted in person, or they can be conducted via telehealth depending on the type of evaluation and the extent of the testing needed. Evaluations for Utah residents are via telehealth only and are also dependent on the type as well as scope of testing needed.
Testing services are for both adults and children.

Personality Testing
Personality tests are used to measure styles of thinking and functioning. Having a better understanding of these processes has the potential to help improve various personal, social, and work relationships. These tests can be used to diagnose personality disorders or gain a better understanding of sometimes inflexible patterns of thinking.
Achievement Testing
Achievement tests are used to measure academic abilities, which may be based on academic grade level or chronological age. These tests can be used to diagnose a specific learning disability in reading, writing, or mathematics.
Intelligence Testing
Intelligence tests are used to measure intellectual and cognitive abilities. These tests look at various domains of intelligence, such as the ability to process information, memory, verbal abilities, and perceptual reasoning. Intelligence tests are used to diagnose an Intellectual Disability.
Neurodevelopmental Testing
Neurodevelopmental tests are used to measure areas of development, such as motor skills, social development, learning abilities, and focus. These tests are used to diagnose neurodevelopmental disorders like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Neuropsychological Testing
Neuropsychological tests are used to better understand the intellectual and cognitive processes. These tests are used to determine potential impairments in memory functioning in individuals who have sustained brain related injuries.
Presurgical Evaluations
Presurgical evaluations are used to measure patient readiness, identify factors that can facilitate or impede success, and aid in treatment planning. These evaluations are performed prior to medical procedures like bariatric surgery, spine surgery, cosmetic surgery, in vitro fertilization (IVF). Many insurance companies require psychological evaluations prior to approving surgery.
Evaluations for Testing Accommodations
Recommendations are made to testing boards for accommodations for tests such as the SAT, ACT, MCAT, or LSAT based on clinical diagnosis and identifiable clinical need. They are also made to schools for services, such as an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Note that these are simply recommendations for accommodations and Yount Psychological Services cannot guarantee they will be adhered to.
Forensic Evaluations
Dr. Yount is an expert witness for Orange and Osceola counties in Florida and assists the judicial system in making decisions.
